If you know me, you know me as an IT professional, an introvert, and a tech nerd who thrives on automation, architecture, and code. Talking publicly about Neuro-Linguistic Programming and hypnosis always felt a bit out of character for me.
But beneath all the logic and the systems, there is one thing I love even more: helping people debug their own minds and turn negative, looping patterns into positive breakthroughs.
Now that summer is here, I have decided to blend human transformation with the ultimate offline environment. I have started conducting hypnosis and NLP sessions entirely outdoors, combining a walk in the wild with a deep, quiet session halfway through.
The structure
Simple. Highly effective.
The Walk
We start by just walking and talking. No pressure. The conversation is light on purpose. Enough to establish rapport, not enough to start working the problem. Movement does the heavy lifting here.
The Defusal
By moving through nature, the analytical, overthinking mind naturally starts to quiet down. Without realizing it, people drop their operational firewalls and emotional defenses. The body is in motion. The mind follows.
The Clearing
About halfway through, we reach a quiet, secluded spot. That is where we sit down and do the actual session. By this point the conscious mind has stepped back enough to let the deeper work begin.
The real magic
But the real magic lies in using the surroundings as active components during that session, not as a backdrop.
The Sounds
The rustle of the leaves, the sound of frogs by the water. They are not distractions. They are direct cues for the hypnotic induction. Even better: I actively guide the client’s attention to the environment as a real-time anchor.
When I offer a suggestion and the subconscious begins to connect the dots, I direct them to notice a sudden bird chirping in the distance. Suggesting that even the birds already know the answer. It instantly turns nature into a co-therapist and unlocks their inner knowing.
The Elements
The feeling of the wind on the skin becomes a tangible, physical metaphor. A natural mechanism to carry away negative, stagnant energy and supply fresh, clean focus. No visualization required. The body already knows what wind is doing.
The fast path
As a tech guy, I always look for the most efficient path to an optimization. In human psychology I have found that the fastest way to bypass an emotional block is not inside a sterile office sitting in a stiff chair.
It is out here. Letting the environment do half the work.
Sometimes, to completely rewrite the software of your mind, you just need to step away from the screen and change the hardware environment.
